This page was originally designed be viewed with - or printed from - Internet Explorer 6 with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, presently (2013) it renders well using Firefox 21.0 on a Linux system. It is part of a web site dedicated my Mother's family descended from James Thompson of Collow, County Tyrone, Ireland, born in the the 1700's.
The site was created to take advantage of the power of hypertext links: you can navigate from a person forwards or backwards in time by clicking name links. This is the whole point of using the web for family history: researching connections using links!
The information on this site comes from various sources. There are bound to be errors! If you know of them, please let me know.
Each person on this site related to James Thompson is given a number, following the "D'Aboville" system. The person furthest back - James Thompson - is 1, with all descendants working forward in time from there, females underlined. 1.3 would be the third child of #1, a boy, and 1.5 would be the fifth child of #1, a girl. 1.1.4 would be a grandson of #1.
These numbers are entirely arbitrary; their correctness depends on the accuracy of the data they are derived from, which is bound to have errors here and there. They are provided because of their usefulness as an index - with a glance you can tell the relationship of a person to James Thompson of Collow and his descendants.
For reasons of security and privacy, access to pages on this site containing information about certain living persons is limited to members of the family. Use the email address given to arrange such access.
